Process

1. Client Checklist/Project Information – Prior to our initial consultation, La Fortuna Design and Remodeling with provide you with our Client Information Form. This form is designed to help define and structure project goals.

2. Initial Consultation – During this phase, we will carefully listen and document your project goals and needs. As we review them together, we will offer advice and suggestions to help you meet your project goals. A preliminary scope of work with be drafted for your review based on our discussion during the initial consultation.

3. Scope of Work – This document will serve as a tool to further refine your project requirements and goals. Together, we will collaborate to create a defined focus on the design and selections to help create a preliminary project budget.

4. Project Production – At this stage, we will conduct a collaborative session consisting of our trade and installation partners to identify any possible issues and recommend solutions. This process often takes place in multiple sessions. This process serves as an opportunity to address any potential concerns and modify design as needed to achieve a suitable solution.

5. Preliminary Budget – The Scope of Work will assist in composing a Preliminary Budget, based on a mid-range of finishes, fixtures, and products (if final selections are not chosen). This document can be modified as needed before the Construction Contract is signed based on design and selection decisions made.

6. Construction Contract – This will serve as a legal document based on final approved budget, scope of work, construction documents, and selections.

7. Construction Phase – During this phase, final planning will be completed, materials will be ordered as needed and production will begin. Prior to project start, a Project Pre-Construction Meeting will take place in your home where you will meet members of the La Fortuna Design and Remodeling team and project details will be discussed. Among the items that are discussed will be access to the property during construction, site protection, materials placement and jobsite logistics. Once material has been ordered and ETAs have been obtained, you will be given a preliminary job schedule. Keep in mind that this schedule can and will vary based on materials, labor and unforeseen delays, but updates will given promptly as needed.

8. Closing – Upon substantial completion, La Fortuna Design and Remodeling will perform a walkthrough of the project. We will explain Homeowner Maintenance responsibilities. You will also be given a copy of all manufacturer warranties and any other direct warranty information we have collected for you during the construction process.

9. Warranty – When your project is complete, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. La Fortuna Design and Remodeling offers a 1-year labor warranty which is effective from the date that the certificate is signed. Any construction defects that occur will be warranted per the Construction Contract.
